Type A Trips is a luxury travel blog for the stressed out, overwhelmed, working professional with 2 weeks vacation a year who want to be told where to go and what to do to spend their hard earned travel dollars - wine, dinners, spas, luxury accommodations and sought after experiences - who don't have the time, energy or know how to plan.

Since the site's inception in March of 2014, there has been tremendous growth and a targeted community of readers has emerged who are desperately seeking travel truths that fit their needs. Working with a small team of researchers, I aim to cut through the overwhelming noise for the working professional who has a limited amount of time and who trust me to provide them with the best places to go. These are not budget backpackers, these are people who want to take amazing vacations.

As a professional in the corporate world with a passion for photography and exploring, I focus on creating beautiful, relevant and straightforward content for readers like me, as well as organize and plan in-depth itineraries for my clients. Type A Trips provides readers with all of the inside information a traveler would need to plan a perfect vacation based on detailed research and strategic decisions.

Type A Trips is all about creating the best possible travel experiences through detailed research, strategic decisions and organized planning.  Whether you have a type-A personality like me or have a go with the flow attitude like my hubby, Type A Trips provides unbiased, unfiltered tips and strategies so that you can be an informed, thoughtful traveler.

Hi! My name is Aimee and there are two things that are often used to describe me: I'm extremely organized and I love to travel.  So I thought, why not share those skills with the world, which is why I started Type A Trips... but before I get into that, let me tell you a little more about who I am.

People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care.
– John C. Maxwell

I'm a California native, grew up in Silicon Valley and went away to college in San Diego where I met my husband and never left.  I've always been a bit of a control-freak, perfectionist with a little self-diagnosed OCD thrown in.  I hate the term "foodie", but would probably be described as one. Anthropologie is my absolute favorite store and I have three beautiful babies - baby chickens that is.

Professionally, I put my BA in Communication and MA in Organizational Management to good use as the Head of Business Operations for a thriving software company.  My days are filled with planning, organizing and optimizing the business while also (hopefully) making our customers and our team smile.

Somehow, the man of my untapped dreams turned out to be the complete opposite of me in most areas - except for our addiction to travel!  The son of a South African native dad and an adventurous, world traveled mom, he learned how to explore new places for months at a time on a low budget, but packed with culture and new experiences.  Coupled with my desire for planning, high quality and pretty things, we have spent our marriage (and our money) seeing what the world has to offer.  Often letting our stomaches lead the way, we embrace the touristy spots for what they're worth and always try to find unique adventures in unlikely locations.

Ultimately, Type A Trips is a reflection of us.  You'll find ways to get the best bang for your buck, tools and resources for organization, and personal recommendations for where to go and how to get there.  And if you still don't think you can plan a perfect trip, leave it to me! I'll do the research for you and provide you with a detailed itinerary, ideally created to fit your travel personality, packed with suggestions as if I were planning my own vacation.
